Collaboration Strategies
Working together to achieve the same goal.
Guidelines
  • Everyone should have a job to do.  If you are done yours, ask others if they need help. Make sure you do your job well, everyone is counting on you,
  • Treat everyone with respect. Putting down or making fun of a team member is not going to make them work better; put you personal problems aside and focus on getting the job done.
  • If you are not sure what you job is or how to do it, ask. If you mess up because you are not sure what to do the entire team will suffer.
  • Don't put down other teammates ideas.   Sometimes what seems like a bad idea can leads to a great idea.  Look for the positive in your teammates ideas and it and try to add to it.
  • Acknowledge your teammates' contribution. Encouragement and positive feedback motivate people to work harder. "Good job Billy!"
  • Deal with the teammates who are causing problems. If someone is not contributing and/or is bringing the down the group, respectfully remind them of what they need to do. If the situation doesn't get better ask your supervisor/teacher to intervene.

Take the quiz if you think you are ready.
