Seven Tips to be Productive while avoiding zombies and alien abductions
1- Make a list of goals you want to achieve and set a time frame to reach these goals.
e.g. My goal is to earn five badges in a week.
2- Keep track of time, assess your progress regularly, and make the necessary change to stay on schedule.
e.g. If your goal is to get 5 badges in 5 days and you only have one badge after two days, you are falling behind and you need to make changes to catch up. You may consider working at lunch or sitting away from the friends that are distracting you.
3- Don't spend too much time on what is not important.
If your assignment is to write a paragraph about the time you were abducted by aliens, concentrate on writing the story, not on colouring your letters with every colour of the rainbow.
4- If you feel like you can't think straight, take a short break to clear your mind (this strategy is called getting the zombie out of your brain).
5- If you take a break, set yourself a time to go back to work (if your breaks are too long the zombies will get you for good).
6- Come to class prepared, bring the material you need to do work (walking back and forth between the class and your locker is not productive).
Did you you know that most abductions by aliens at our school happen in the hallway and not in class?
7-Do not wait until the last minute. It is very rare that a project goes without a hitch: your computer might crash, there might be a fire drill or may be abducted by aliens. If you wait until the last minute, you won't be able to make up for the time you lose.
